Alex Katz
American artist, Alex Katz started painting flowers in the ‘60s, often during his summer residencies in Maine. He had a natural affinity for flowers and was influenced by Japanese art as seen in the cropped flattened composition. His bold simplicity and unmodulated colors are seen as precursors to Pop Art.
