“Heidi has an incredible depth of knowledge in her field and a clear passion for art. Her experience in the crossroads between art and commerce, and her ability to think creatively, inject her work with initiative and thoughtfulness. She has been a formidable asset and I’m excited to see what she does next”. - Thomas Galbraith, CEO, Hindman Auctions

"With your help we were able to create an extraordinary atmosphere of access, insight and discovery for our intimate group of UBS clients, prospects and guests. From the perspective of incredibly connected and hard-to-impress guests--the entire package of events surprised, delighted and inspired our guests. The comments and feedback we received have been uniformly glowing!
I am also personally delighted to have been able to work with you over the weeks leading up to the fair. You have been open, receptive and engaging--which made our job all the more pleasant and our client's experience all the better. Your contacts, strategic thinking, and your energy were key to our success!"- Rod. V., UBS Private Wealth Management client

“I was always impressed by Heidi's deep knowledge of the workings of the art market, along with her ability to build a trusting rapport with clients and prospects. Her entrepreneurial spirit, the rigor of her thinking and her work ethic make for a very compelling combination. What made her a unique sales person though was the genuine personal touch she adds to these skills, her ability to make strong personal connections very quickly. Working with her was always a pleasure.” - Thierry D., Marketing Director, Port Authority

“Heidi has worked with clients in building first-class international collections of contemporary art.” - Micheal Gitlitz, Director of Marlborough Gallery

“Other advisors I talked to were going to charge me twice as much and take twice as long to do our first art exhibition and it would have been half the quality! Choosing to work with Heidi was a no brainer.” - A.T. Kearney

“I have worked with Heidi on a daily basis and believe she has an incredible understanding of the art industry; she brings a unique combination of Art Market knowledge and business savvy with a deep appreciation for art.
She impressed me by her work ethic, compassion and wide-ranging talent. She grasped the nuances and complexities of artnet's products in a short period of time and established herself as a top salesperson in her area.
I enjoyed working with Heidi; she demonstrated her ability as an executive who could communicate and work effectively with a team persevering through a variety of challenges. She is responsive, reliable and always enthusiastic. She is a pleasure to work with and I would recommend her with confidence to bring expertise and passion to any position.” - Cheryl S., C Fine Art, former colleague

“Heidi is an energetic person who truly loves art and working with artists. I found her to be knowledgable and enthusiastic about her curatorial projects with Twyla. Heidi visited my studio recently; her thoughts about my paintings were refreshing and insightful. I was impressed by her experience and involvement in the art world. She is truly part of the art community in the NY area. I wholeheartedly recommend Heidi, she would be an asset to any curatorial project or business!” - Carolanna Parlato, Visual Artist

“I met Heidi through an Armory Show Group visiting my art collection. That chance meeting has led to a lasting and rewarding relationship and friendship. I have an extensive collection located in my loft, an art storage room in the loft, an off-site storage area and art in my upstate home. I was a prolific but unorganized collector. Heidi promptly redressed that situation. We visited all sites, took photos and measurements and I now have it on DVDs. She provided labels for all the art and an appraisal for each piece. And this was all done at a very reasonable cost. Equally valuable, she has become my counselor on all matters art-related including strategy and disposition. We talk often. She is a trusted adviser and friend.” - Ron S., Client, Executive Adviser at Calatrava Grace Corporation

“Heidi’s enthusiasm and amazing capacity to put herself out there a hundred and fifty percent make her a valuable asset to any great endeavor.” – Jasmin S., Client, Director of Family Estate

“Heidi, thank you for your invaluable assistance picking up all those pieces at auction! You really helped me to bid with confidence that I would not overpay on pieces that are great investments as well as pieces I will enjoy looking at every day in my home and at my office.” - Lionel L., Client, art collector, New York

“Heidi is a gifted visionary and uniquely adept at championing artists and clients alike. While working closely with Heidi over the last two years at Twyla as a member of the art team, I had the pleasure of witnessing first hand Heidi’s ardent approach to all projects and challenges. Particularly impressive are her skills at encouraging collaboration and uniting forces to execute standout curatorial projects and experiences. Heidi’s magnetism and curiosity make her a powerful ally and I would endorse her for any role!” - Cornelia C., former colleague

BYBLOS TO BUBBLEGUM 😘 🇮🇹 Heading t BYBLOS TO BUBBLEGUM 😘

🇮🇹 Heading to the gates of Verona on the first day of Spring to share this art triplet inside a stunning 16th century villa, Villa Amidst | Byblos Art Hotel: #VanessaBeecroft, #MaurizioSavini and #DamienHirst. It's an unlikely combination but they actually work well together. Read on to find out how the seemingly disparate works are connected 🧐👉

Beecroft (b. 1969, Italy) is best known for her large-scale photographs of female nudes. each shot is painstakingly choreographed like a staged performance. Her work addresses conformity, serialization of beauty and desire.

In stark contrast to Beecroft's desfile of nude models is Savini’s sculpture of a mundanely suited male figure made entirely of chewing gum….A popular children's candy, the garish pink bubblegum is a tongue-in-cheek reminder of ones sugar loaded youth.🍬🍫🍭

Likewise, Hirst's thrown-paint paintings are inspired by another popular childhood staple--spin art, the cheap cardboard painting kits you can find in any toy store. He first discovered spin paintings when he was nine years old and was transfixed by the simple motorized spinning process. 😵‍💫

✅Fun fact: the word Bible is derived from #byblos as the (papyrus) book. Byblos is also one of the oldest Phoenician cities and the origin of our contemporary alphabet.

MAMAN🕸️ Who’s afraid of spiders?? 🕷️ MAMAN🕸️

Who’s afraid of spiders?? 🕷️

Highlighting this incredible female artist and work of art today—#LouiseBourgeois and her epic bronze work titled ‘Maman’ standing at 30 feet high which I had the l pleasure of seeing in person years ago at the Guggenheim Bilbao in Spain. 🇪🇸

The series was first created in the mid-1990s and was one of the artist’s most ambitious undertakings in her long career.

Bourgeois was fascinated by her mother's nimble skills with a needle and thread which she compared to the deft skills of a spider. As such, Bourgeois massive arachnids were likened to the artist’s own mother: “She was deliberate, clever, patient, soothing, reasonable, dainty, subtle, indispensable, neat, and as useful as a spider,” Bourgeois said of her mother. 👩‍👧💕

Bourgeois was known for creating emotionally provocative works that investigate the human psyche and emotion. her work is both universal as well as deeply personal. It’s deeply rooted in her childhood memories, family dysfunction and personal trauma.

🥚Fun fact: the artist included an egg sac containing 32 marble eggs inside the spider’s abdomen and thorax which were made of ribbed bronze.

CLOSING CEREMONY 🌸 As we come to an end CLOSING CEREMONY 🌸

As we come to an end of the show, please join us this Saturday, 3/18 for the closing of Lux Interna: An Invitation (11-5pm).

“So many of us are in need of finding an inner peace these days and the artists presented in Lux Interna emphasize a slow meditative artistic practice that encourages a communal healing. We’re thrilled to be able to bring their talents to the community.” - Kathryn Markel

#luxinternashow #artandcommunity
✨DESPACHO✨🙏 During Lux Interna, a heartwar ✨DESPACHO✨🙏

During Lux Interna, a heartwarming ceremony of gratitude was conducted at the gallery by artists @annaclejan @stephaniejoyceart and @slystudios . Guests participated in making a double mandala from an array of natural materials—Llama lard, pulses, herbs, seeds, and more. We gathered together to express our gratitude and finished with an offering to Mother Earth. Whilst surrounded by radiant works of art, it was an uplifting and healing experience through the act of releasing and receiving. Lux Interna is on view until March 18. #artandhealing #healingthroughgratitude #despachoceremony #luxinternashow
HENRIK & AMELIA Presenting a cool art pairi HENRIK & AMELIA

Presenting a cool art pairing today: On the back wall, Henrik Godsk's figurative painting looks into the room with a steady gaze. The work beckons #FernandLeger and #PabloPicasso with its controlled brushwork and geometric lines.

On the table in the foreground, lies #AmeliaLynch's otherworldly moon rock-like sculpture. Its organic abstract geometric forms and technicolor palette is a great compliment to Godsk’s cubist portrait.

The synchronicity of their shared red and blue color palettes and their diagonal positions creates a visual conversation between the two works yet drawn in the other pieces in the room (note the the Incredible Hulk figure peeking out on the back right!😂)

By playing with artistic conventions of the past, Godsk offers a refreshing take on portraiture while Lynch takes a more experimental approach grounded in nature.

FIGURE GROUND If this hasn’t broken the i FIGURE GROUND

If this hasn’t broken the internet yet you can enjoy the spectacle here and revel with me on this beautifully composed pile of shipping containers. the stark contrast between the bucolic landscape and the steel containers, a ubiquitous symbol of international commerce, is a glaring reminder of the dilemmas we face in modern society.

#MattJohnson’s #SleepingFigure is part of the #DesertX exhibition on view now in #CoachellaValley, CA, 2023. I love how the forms of the containers mimic the jagged mountain range, hill tops and valleys in background. It is at once landscape and figuration. Can you spot the figure in supine position on the ground, the head on the right and the legs bent at the knees? At least that’s what I see 😀

Johnson’s sculptures explore the paradox of visual forms through the use of unorthodox materials as seen here with Sleeping Figure.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT Shining a bright light tod ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

Shining a bright light today on these two artistic geniuses showcased in Lux Interna: An Invitation, #PipiDeer and #BeataPankiewicz.

Both Pipi and Beata's work articulate ancient healing pathways through their creative choices and explore notions of transcendence, ritual and meditation.

Pipi Deer uses the earth as her canvas and her body as a vessel to create sacred connections to ancestors. Similar to how #AnaMendieta's work connects to Mother Nature, Deer aims to re-establish the bonds that unite humans to the earth and return to a deeply grounded, maternal source.

Her immersive installation, "Womb Room,” debuted at the opening ceremony. Visitors entered a red shrouded room with Tibetan bowl music vibrating throughout. Installed inside the “womb” was her Sri Yantra cosmogenesis painting depicting a map of consciousness along with a self-portrait, Red Snow, of the artist lying bare in cold white snow.

Deer states, "As above so below. Most of us humans never get inside. We keep going around and around caught in worldly desires, wrath greed, our stories, obstinacy, jealousy, mundane rewards, deficiency and guilt."

Pankiewicz’s work is influenced by surrealism, abstraction and the natural world. She deftly juxtaposes diverse materials from commercial products to raw materials using meditation as the basis for her overall approach. She spent years working with #UrsulavonRydingsvard who she considers a mentor, and completed her first artist residency at #MarieWalshStudioSpace in New York.

LUX INTERNA: An Invitation is on view until March 18th. #luxinternashow
THE GAZE👀 Continuing with my gold streak, my i THE GAZE👀

Continuing with my gold streak, my inspiration today is this delightful art pairing--a silkscreen on canvas by #AndyWarhol (left) and an resplendently opulent abstract work by #RudolfStingel (right). Read on to find out what these two artists have in common.👇

Warhol’s Self-Portraits were among his most popular series. Portraying the artist himself wearing his signature "fright wig", his skeletal face with peering hollow eyes serve as a type of #mementomori. ☠️

“I paint pictures of myself to remind myself that I’m still around,” Andy Warhol once said.

Stingel’s popular electroplated panels in copper such as this work are sealed with gold and contain myriad graffiti-like markings inscribed by strangers. People used credit cards, finger nails, pens etc to create or destroy the work. He views the works as acts of destruction or intervention effectively rupturing traditional boundaries of art and its attendant hierarchies.

The above gilded work has a seductive sheen that teases the viewer's gaze. One is aware of their presence in the face of the work while becoming disoriented.😵‍💫

These two works have remarkable synergy and alight the room. Both artists exalt underestimated art forms to Fine Art and question the role of authenticity in art and both works challenge the notion of the gaze while inviting existential questions. What more could you want?

Other works include a sculpture by #GeorgesJouve and a coffee table designed by #KarenChekerdjian
