Come with me for a behind-the-scenes peek at an art installation I led for a top 5 global bank in New York.✨

Researching and curating art for an office space offers unique opportunities. It may appear easy but pull back the curtain and you’ll see dozens of busy bees working together to deliver top results.🐝🐝🐝

I work seamlessly with a multitude of departments, divisions, and collaborators where teamwork is essential, often resembling a symphony of coordinated efforts across various project teams. 🤝🤝🤝🤝

The ensemble includes corporate committees, internal global art teams, logistics vendors (art handlers + shippers), art galleries, building security, construction management teams, architecture and design firms, wall label manufacturers and framing companies. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

I thrive in executing a project together to achieve a common goal—making the client happy and their employees. Each player brings a crucial element to the process, with countless intricate details woven together to achieve our shared vision.

I get all the feels when it’s all hung and done, knowing that we strived to do our best and exceed expectations.😊

As the sun sets on summer adventures, I’m soaking up the last golden rays while counting my blessings—like sun-kissed memories by the Cut, the laughter shared with friends, and the vibrant art of nature that surrounds us (we were graced with a magnificent display of Whales feeding along sag main Beach yesterday- teaser on slide 2!). 🐋🎨✨

Back to school means new beginnings, fresh creativity, and the perfect blend of gratitude for these endless summer moments. Here’s to balancing books and brush strokes, and endless summer vibes! 🙌🎨

IT’S A LOVE THANG 💙🎶🤎

So proud to have recently placed this beauty by Tariku Shiferaw for a client with all its many layers of meaning and subtle gestures. 🙏✨

Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and currently based in New York City, Shiferaw’s practice draws inspiration from the ongoing movement of Black joy that has increasingly gained momentum among creatives as a source of community-building and healing. ✨

Shiferaw explores the metaphysical ideas of painting and societal structures employing a formal language of geometric abstraction that is executed through densely layering material to create marks, or gestures that interrogate space-making and reference the hierarchy of systems.⁠

The above painting is from a series of works titled after songs from musical genres by artists of the African diaspora such as Hip-hop, R&B, Reggae, Afrobeats, Blues, and Jazz, that intentionally hold space for the Black persons and cultures they represent.🎶

¡BON DIA! 🇪🇸

Too many highlights from our summer vacation to post but staying true to my artsy roots I am sharing our fortuitous visit to Barcelona’s Museu Picasso...👨‍🎨

I may not have been the only person to visit the city this summer but Barcelona with all its rich Catalan charm and culture, is a splendid place to visit if you can endure the heat (and anti-tourism protests!). 🪧

While we meandered through the Old City of La Ribera, we gawked at the architecture and relished tapas along the way. Once at the striking Gothic-style museum, we marveled at works by Picasso from the 5,000-piece collection.👀

What a joy it was to experience it with family and friends..my 9-year-old son got into the art too which delighted this bonafide art mama!

The works on view represent Picasso’s expansive range of styles and subject matter that he developed during his formative years. Notable works included Harlequin, The Wait (Margot), First Communion (painted when the precocious artist was just 15!), Science and Charity, Portrait of Jaume Sabartés and a series of Las Meninas. They mark the artist’s relationship with Barcelona, a city often credited with shaping his youth (he was already on the cusp of greatness when he moved to Barcelona with his family in 1895). 🙌

My son wryly noticed themes surrounding death and suffering in the exhibition. Picasso was never one to shy away from difficult subjects and confront reality head-on. We left feeling emboldened and enlightened (and ready for the next tapas stop) 🍗🍅

✅Fast Fact:
Museu Picasso was the first (but not only) museum dedicated to the artist’s work, and the only one created during his lifetime. The idea for the museum came from his lifelong friend and secretary, Jaume Sabartés, who suggested opening it in Malaga, Spain. However, due to his long-standing connection to Barca, Picasso opted to have it situated in Barcelona instead.‼️

ENCHANTED LAB✨🥼👩‍🔬 The Watermil Cent

ENCHANTED LAB✨🥼👩‍🔬

The Watermil Center, an interdisciplinary laboratory for the arts and humanities nestled in an enchanted forest, hosted its annual summer benefit celebrating #LucindaChilds, a 1960s New York dance icon with special performance by #MykkiBlanco.🎤

Guests traversed through the property’s 10-acre eco-maze, witnessing a series of performance acts and installations by over a dozen artists including #LizMagicLaser’s Exorcise 1 through 8, which consisted of eight digital mirrors playing videos of yoga practitioners installed inside Robert Wilson’s #ClementineHunter house. 🏡

Before arriving at the open plaza, we were invited for a forest bath and led through a mesmerizing lineup of choir singers, several based in the Hamptons, who sang the Passage Piece by #DaiAsano. They harmonized single layered notes that were barely audible unless you walked at close range sounding as if fairies were whispering secrets from the forest. 🧚‍♀️🌳

Other incredible artists included #Tez, #AlicjaKwade, @ingagalinyte + @chloeblm (Memory Island performance on shells), and Simone Forti who restaged four of her iconic works.
