HLAA co-hosted an exclusive preview of Dominique Rousserie’s latest paintings at Le Serano hotel designed by famed Parisien designer Christian Liagre. Rousserie incorporates a range of art historical and vernacular from the French Rococo to contemporary society. He offers a fresh perspective on modern painting while questioning the way we look and associate. His subject matter references science and nature and is always devoid of any social or political opinion. Dominique’s slightly offbeat subjects are depicted in a conventional arrangement, centered on the canvas, but his application and use of hand-made pigments, a process he learned while living in the Amazon jungle are entirely innovative.
